Offering cross-disciplinary workshops for K-12 faculties across the U.S., including contract work for the Bureau of Education and Research, Bellevue, WA, and transformational consulting with individual schools and districts. Emphasis on innovation, student engagement, and effective classroom instruction.

 

2013 – Present        Head Instructional Coach, Balmert Consulting – Industrial Safety Training Specialists

Louis is the Instructional coach for Balmert Consulting, an industrial safety consultancy. Louis   works with their instructors to raise the bar on Balmert’s industry-leading classroom delivery.                   Louis’ brilliance is his ability to identify what works, help instructors understand why it works, and offer creative ideas on how to improve effectiveness in classroom delivery. He provides practical and innovative strategies for increasing student engagement and uptake of the lessons taught.

Louis has also teamed up with Paul Balmert, CEO of Balmert Consulting, to present, “Teach the Teacher”, an interactive and engaging course that exemplifies professional teaching and training. Louis demonstrates his expertise in learning theory with his wide knowledge of effective instructional approaches and best practices. The opportunity for participants to practice real-life lessons, supported by Paul and Louis’ fine-tuning and innovative ideas for creating more successful learning make this course the best in the industry.

  • Consulting with Principals and Teachers regarding services for Advanced Learners
  • Designing and presenting Professional Development workshops for SPS teachers
  • Representing Advanced Learning student needs in the Formative Assessment PDs
  • Leading Advanced Learning website management
  • Furthering efforts to increase opportunity and equity regarding traditionally underserved populations
  • Organizing Assessment and organization of Early Entrance to Kindergarten program
  • Continuing Involvement with Formative Assessment Practices Group
  • Consulting are schools in Formative Assessment Practices pertaining to Advanced
  • Scheduling School visits and In-services
  • Arranging Unit Planning session with cohort teachers
  • Offering Differentiated instruction PD for teachers of Advanced Learners
  • Gathering and analyzing eligibility data
  • Surveying data gathered from administrators and Kindergarten teachers
  • Participating in regular collaborative planning sessions with Math CAI staff
  • Writing, filming and editing video for Advanced Learning website
  • Collaborating as consultant in district-wide ELA adoption committee

For nineteen years, Louis has presented with remarkable success for the Bureau of Education & Research, one of the largest providers of staff development for teachers in the world. The Bureau is highly regarded by district administrators, school principals and teachers across the country because of the very high standards of excellence it demands in the expertise and the presenting skills of its instructors. Louis created and has been presenting four distinct and outstanding seminars for the Bureau in over one hundred cities all across North America. Several thousand teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, and administrators have benefited from his expertise and experience since 1997.
